As part of the fourth phase of unlock, the Centre has given its green signal for metro services to resume their operations from September 7th. However, respective state governments were given the authority to allow metro services in a phase wise manner.
The Hyderabad Metro authority has consulted the Telangana government and has come up with their plan to restart the operations and here is how it goes.
In phase-1, the metro would be running from LB Nagar to Miyapur which is the first corridor while the timings are 7 AM to 12 Noon and 4 PM to 9 PM.
In the phase -2, corridor 3 i.e, from Nagole to Raidurg, will operate. However, services on this route would begin from September 8th. The timings would also be the same like the phase-1.
From September 9th, all the corridors will be on full operations and the timing would be 7 AM to 9 PM. Also metro stations at Gandhi Hospital, Bharat Nagar, Moosapet, Musheerabad and Yousufguda will remain closed as they fall under containment zones.
But there is no clarity on the number of passengers to be allowed following the social distancing norms. Hyderabad Metro would take some more time to come up with a strategy following the norm imposed by the Centre.
Earlier, Hyderabad Metro would start its first train from 4 AM and would run till 11 PM. In no time, lakhs of people preferred the metro to reach their destination quickly.
