Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s campaign vehicle, Varahi, was readied despite criticism against it. Special pujas were also performed for the vehicle at Kondagattu, Vijayawada and other sacred places. This led to talk that the Pawan’s yatra would begin soon and that he was embarking on the tour to bring about a change in the people’s perspective.
The public believed that the launch of the yatra would bring significant change in the state politics too. However, there has been no talk about Varahi since then. Neither Pawan Kalyan nor the party leaders had made any announcement about it. While people are telling that the vehicle was parked at Mangalagiri party office, there is talk that it is not present even there.
Meanwhile, there is buzz that the launch of the yatra could have been shelved for three reasons.
Firstly, the election code for the MLC polls is under implementation. In fact, Varahi should have been brought on to the road right after performing the pujas as there was no poll code then. This means there could have been some other reason for putting off the yatra now.
There are doubts that the yatra was shelved for some time so that it would not clash with TDP’s Yuva Galam. However, there is an argument that there would have been no problem for Yuva Galam as the route map for Varahi’s journey was completely different from the route followed by TDP leader Lokesh.
In that case, the reason for the delay in the launch of the yatra could be that the BJP leaders could have stopped Pawan from embarking on it. But, Pawan is in no mood to snap ties with the BJP. There is talk that the BJP leaders had told Pawan that he should suspend plans for the launch of the yatra for some time and that they would fix a date and inform him when he can begin campaigning in his vehicle. Probably, this could be the reason for the delay in Pawan’s yatra in his Varahi.
