It’s Not Janasena, Kanna To Jump Into TDP!

Published by

Former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana, who had quit the BJP a couple of days ago, would not join the Jana Sena as speculated by many in political circles. It is learnt that he would join the TDP.

On February 23, Kanna would join the TDP in the presence of party president and former CM N. Chandrababu Naidu.

On Sunday, Kanna held a meeting with his acolytes who expressed an opinion that his status would get elevated if he joined the TDP. Accepting their idea, Kanna is getting ready to join Naidu’s party.

Kanna joined the BJP in 2014. He was made the BJP state unit president just a few months before the 2019 Assembly polls. The BJP, led by Kanna, fielded candidates from all the 175 constituencies in that elections.

In the case of Amaravati, he opposed YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s irrational decisions. He even led protests against Jagan’s anti-Amaravati decisions.

However, the scene changed after Kanna was replaced by Somu Veerraju as the party president. Kanna and Somu could differed with each other on many issues.

At some instances, Kanna slammed Veerraju in the public. Kanna openly extended support to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and this led to speculation that he would join the actor’s party. However, it is learnt that Kanna would join the TDP.

According to sources, arrangements have been made to enable Kanna contest on a TDP ticket from Sattenapalli constituency in Guntur district. There is buzz that Naidu had even given an assurance to Kanna regarding the same.

Kanna would also take part in Lokesh’s Yuva Galam padayatra after joining the TDP, sources in the party said.
