Remember AP CM YS Jagan words in the AP Assembly on party defections. Jagan added that any TDP MLA who wants to switch loyals have to tender resignation and call for a by-election. This did not happen in the case of Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi.
In October 2019, Vallabhaneni quit the Telugu Desam but did not resign to his MLA post. Now Vallabhaneni is acting like a pro-YCP leader especially in attacking TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh. On Thursday Vallabhaneni was spotted at Gannavaram airport and when confronted by the media he said that he is in YCP.
Apparently Vallabhaneni reacted to TDP’s Konakalla Narayana filing a case against the former. “I share good relations with Narayana but politics are different. He is TDP and is bound to do whatever his party leadership asks whereas I’m in YCP and I will do anything YCP wants me to do and it is inevitable,” said Vallabhaneni.
This is for the first time Vallabhaneni made a clear cut statement that he is in YCP but what about resignation. In line with CM Jagan’s statements, Vallabhaneni should resign and go for a by-poll. Can he do it?
