Ghar Wapsi is a political trend that plays a significant role in a political party’s success and failure stories. Especially before and after the elections ‘Ghar Wapsi’ has a lot of prominence and this trend has now hit the Telugu Desam, the main opposition of Andhra Pradesh.
TDP is said to be getting in touch with leaders who have quit the party over the last couple of years. In that line TDP has contacted former minister Adinarayana Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh who hail from Kadapa district. Besides these two leaders, TDP is consulting many leaders and has appealed to them to return to the party.
From East and West Godavari districts many TDP leaders joined YCP after the 2019 elections. In the background of taking the upcoming elections with pride, the TDP has decided to include all the sections in order to win the elections and so is leaving no opportunity unturned to induct as many leaders as possible so as to give a tough fight to YCP in the elections.
Similarly, efforts have been made to recruit those who have worked for the party tirelessly over the years but somehow could not get the due recognition. TDP leadership assured that this time, those leaders will not be disappointed.
With TDP leadership holding negotiations, leaders who quit the party have gone into a second thought. Many leaders in YCP and BJP are said to be seriously considering TDP’s proposal. Some are worried that if they stick to their current party, there are less chances of getting ticket/B-form in the elections and if they wait till the last minute, things would slip out of their hands.
From political insiders, quite a few leaders are looking at Telugu Desam while some are openly placing their demands before the TDP leadership. Seeing this Chandrababu Naidu is now chanting the ‘Ghar Wapsi’ mantra.
