With the slogan ‘Why Not 175’ AP CM YS Jagan Reddy is going aggressive with elections just one year away. Simultaneously CM Jagan has set eagle eyes on his MLAs and is making them stand on their toes with reports and surveys reaching him every now and then. Despite hectic activities and CM Jagan behind every MLA, there appears to be no positive sign in the YCP camp.
Within the YCP camp there is an internal debate that CM Jagan is unhappy with reports from two districts landing on his desk. These districts are Kurnool and Anantapur and in the 2019 elections, YCP swept these districts. But now the situation appears to be upside down and in 2024 it is not going to be cake walk for YCP.
In Anantapur district, YCP leaders are certifying that their party’s graph has drastically come down with ministers allegedly involved in corruption. A few days back minister Usha Sricharan’s alleged land scam made it to the headlines but the YCP government did not initiate any investigation in connection with the accusations.
In Kurnool district, minister Jayaram’s affairs are always controversial and the general public has ample knowledge of his corruption and they are always a hot topic for discussion. And Hindupuram MP Gorantla Madhav’s nude video is yet to be subsidised. Within the YCP, Madhav is being called ‘Nude MP’ YCPby his party leaders.
Apart from the leaders attitude, group politics are always a spot of bother for YCP. Even more shockingly some leaders are lodging cases against their own party leaders taking the police department help and there is anguish within the cadre.
All in all, the political analysts believe that YCP will have a tough time in Kurnool and Anantapur districts and the 2019 results may not repeat.
