A vehicle in TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s convoy met with an accident at Choutuppal while the Opposition leader was on way Hyderabad from Vijayawada. A cow came in the way of one of the escort vehicles due to which the driver applied sudden brakes following which the vehicles behind dashed with each other.
The Opposition leader was sitting in the car behind the escort vehicle and in the accident, the escort vehicle’s bonnet was damaged. The security personnel left the damaged vehicle on the spot and left the place in another vehicle.
With Chandrababu and the security staff remaining uninjured, the officials heaved a sigh of relief.
Earlier, Chandrababu addressed a video conference with his party men in Vijayawada. He called upon the cadre to be ready for the local body elections, which could be held any time from now.
He faulted Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s decision to fix metres to farmers’ pumpsets. He said that the TDP would not allow the free power to farmers scheme to be merged with the fund transfer scheme. If metres are fixed to the pumpsets, the farmers in Rayalaseema would be put to loss, he said.
He fumed at Jagan saying that he had ruined the prestige of the state with his inefficient governance.
