The 2024 battle for Andhra Pradesh is going to be intense, tough and gripping. Political analysts are expecting it to be a tug of war between the ruling and opposition parties. TDP and Janasena are cornering ruling YSRCP over confusion on the capital city besides financial status of the state, pile up of debts, delay in salaries, pensions of government employees, lack of creation of jobs, investments and potholed roads.
CM Jagan’s cousin and Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy is being investigated by the CBI in YS Viveka’s brutal murder. In addition to these, some political surveys are favouring opposition parties TDP and Janasena if they join forces.
Ruling YSRCP is plagued by a slew of problems and all-round pressure from the opposition. At this juncture, CM Jagan pulled off something unthinkable and unexpected in a very short span of time. Planned in less than a month, AP government successfully conducted the Global Investors Summit at Vizag with the attendance of several business tycoons and investors.
The government claimed that this summit resulted in a whopping Rs 13 lakh crore investments and creation of 6 lakh jobs to youth. Although the opposition slammed the event as a “fake” summit with false promises, the ruling party is confident of gaining people’s trust with the summit. The investments and jobs creation to the state are going to be CM Jagan’s slogan for the next general election, say political analysts. Jagan will also lash out at his opposition in usual style along with the investments and jobs mantra.
Even YSRCP leaders and cadres are happy with the response to the summit and want this to be part of the campaign of 2024 general election. Now, all eyes are on how the Jagan government would sustain this positivity and go public in the coming days. At the same time, we have to see how the TDP and Janasena would counter the YSRCP’s investment claims.
