The Jana Sena cadre has made all arrangements for celebrating the 10th Foundation Day of the party at Machilipatnam today. However, police are trying to thwart the Jana Sena celebrations, leading to a tense atmosphere.
Yesterday evening, the police issued orders on enforcement of Section 30 of the Police Act in Machilipatnam division. The Krishna district SP made it clear that rallies and public meetings would not be allowed in Machilipatnam.
Notices were also served to the key leaders of the party like Pothula Mahesh, spearheading the preparations for the public meeting. Police also said that strict action would be taken if their orders were violated.
The Jana Sainiks are fuming at the police and the ruling YCP for creating obstacles in their celebrations. “There are no hurdles for YCP plenary session, or any other gatherings addressed by the ruling party leaders but if the opposition parties are planning any public event, the government is imposing restrictions. All this is part of vendetta politics. The opposition parties are not being allowed to carry on with their campaigns and programmes even if they had already sought permissions, citing some problem in the last minute,” they pointed out.
Party chief and actor Pawan Kalyan would travel on his campaign vehicle Varahi from the party headquarters in Mangalagiri this afternoon and address a public meeting in Machilipatnam, likely to be attended by nearly 5 lakh people. The public meeting would be held in a ground spreading 36 acres and parking facility has been provided in 60 acres.
At Vijayawada Benz Circle, the party leaders would accord him a warm reception. From there, Kalyan, along with the party activists, would pass through Kankipadu, Penamaluru, Vuyyuru, Pamarru and reach Machilipatnam.
The Jana Sainiks made it clear that they would move ahead with their programme, despite the police restrictions.
Further, the party cadre and the public are anxiously waiting for the public meeting as Pawan Kalyan is likely to raise the injustice to various communities by the YCP and also speak about the party’s alliance with others.
