Three Capitals is the brainchild of AP CM YS Jagan and last month during the curtain raiser of Global Investors summit, he announced that Vizag is going to be the capital and he will soon move to the beach city. While CM Jagan’s statements are so, YCP ministers say that there is no concept of ‘Three Capitals’ and Vizag is the only capital of AP.
Amidst this uncertainty many anticipated a crucial announcement/decision on ‘Three Capitals’ with AP Assembly budget sessions getting underway. The sessions commenced with AP Governor S. Abdul Nazeer’s address and surprisingly there is no mention of ‘Three Capitals’ in the Governor’s speech.
Political analysts say that this might be a strategic back step of AP CM Jagan on the ‘Three Capitals.’ Some opine that the YCP government avoided the topic because the case is still pending in the Supreme Court. Also YCP leaders learned that if ‘Three Capitals’ is included in Governor’s speech, it would fall under Contempt of Court and might bring more hurdles for CM Jagan’s idea.
Moreover, the new Governor Abdul Nazeer was once a judge at the Supreme Court and if he had objected to the ‘Three Capitals’ in his speech, it would be a huge setback for YCP. The AP government doesn’t want to get into a conflict of interest with the new Governor who assumed the office recently and so avoided the ‘Three Capitals’ in the Governor’s address tactically.
Overall YCP kind of lately realized that there is no loss for it if ‘Three Capitals’ was not mentioned in the Governor’s address as they are routinely making daily announcements in the media circles.
