Yet again the Telugu Desam MLAs have been suspended from the AP Assembly following dramatic scenes. As the Assembly resumed on Monday morning, the TDP MLAs demanded a debate on G.O. 1 brought by the YCP government on banning public gatherings across the state. AP Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitharam rejected the opposition MLAs’ plea and urged them to go back to their seats.
The TDP MLAs continued their demand for a debate on G.O. 1. They stormed at the Speaker’s podium and kept demanding a debate. Seeing the TDP MLAs surrounding the Speaker’s podium, YCP MLAs gathered around them. Here TDP MLA Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swami was allegedly manhandled by YCP MLA Sudhakar Babu.
AP TDP chief Atcchannaidu walked out of the Assembly and also alleged that YCP MLA Vempally attacked MLA Butchaiah Chowdary. “This is a black day in democracy. Having lost MLC elections, YCP and their MLAs are mercilessly attacking TDP. Butchaiah Chowdary is a senior most member of AP Assembly and is a six time MLA but he was physically assaulted by YCP’s Vempally,” said Atcchannaidu.
Atcchannaidu added that their party MLAs are rightfully protesting at the Speaker’s podium but as a plan, YCP surrounded our party MLAs and attacked us yet Speaker Tammineni remained unmoved without taking any action.
