With BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate and TSPSC question paper leak episode, the Telangana politics are witnessing unprecedented developments. Simultaneously a section of the media that always targets BRS government, CM KCR and Kalvakuntla family is campaigning extensively.
Journalists like Chintapandu Naveen alias Teenmar Mallanna and Raghu are strong opponents of KCR and BRS government. The other day Mallanna’s office, Q News was attacked by BRS supporters and last night he was picked up by the police. All these events have made BRS restless and there is a sense of disturbance among top BRS leaders.
None other than BRS Working President KT Rama Rao tweeted in a threatening way. Reacting to the arrest of Kannada actor Chetan Ahimsa for a tweet on Hindutva, KTR wrote, “In BJP ruled Karnataka 14 days jail for an ‘offensive’ tweet. In Telangana, we’ve been tolerating direct & horrible insults to our CM, Ministers and Legislators. May be we need to give them back in same coin, what say people? Right to Freedom of expression is not Right to Abuse.”
Seems like the BRS is done with taking criticism from political opponents and anti-media. Going by KTR’s comments and being an election year, the BRS may resort to strong actions against its rivals.
