The Chanakya Is Back In Action

Published by

Having registered victory in the Graduates MLC elections, the TDP repeated the same in the MLA-quota MLC polls too. Though the party contested for just one MLA-quota MLC seat, the party candidate Panchumarti Anuradha secured 23 votes even when just 22 votes were required.

The winning streak boosted the morale of the TDP cadre and the leaders are all praises for their boss N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision.

In fact, the TDP went to the MLA-quota MLC polls without any preparation. The notification for this polls was released on March 2 and nominations were accepted till March 13. By this time, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy had finalized their party candidates for the MLC polls. The TDP did not focus on this polls till March 9 as the party was having just 19 MLAs.

Though the party was technically having 23 MLAs, four of them had been staying away from the TDP and working closely with the YCP. In the wake of such a situation, Naidu did not focus on the MLA-quota MLC polls. Just one day before the deadline, Naidu thought of contesting this elections too and fielded Panchumarti Anuradha.

Panchumarti filed her nomination just one day before the last date and there were doubts if the TDP would succeed as their rival YCP had already drawn the action plan to emerge victorious in the polls. There was talk that injustice was being done to the BCs but Naidu’s vision drowned the argument. Those sulking in the YCP were identified and the TDP got in touch with them to come out successful.
