The other day the Supreme Court of India expressed its deep disappointment over the progress of the mysterious murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy. The Supreme Court found fault with the CBI officers investigating the case and today the court has made crucial changes.
Sidelining the investigation officer Ram Singh, the Supreme Court ordered the CBI to appoint a new Special Investigation Team (SIT) and begin the trials within the next six months. In the case the CBI’s SIT fails to complete the investigation within the deadline, the Supreme Court added that the suspects can apply for normal bail petition.
Before pronouncing this, the Supreme Court heard the arguments of the CBI. “The probe will be completed by April 30th and an additional charge-sheet will be filed very soon,” informed the CBI to the Supreme Court.
With orders from the Supreme Court, IPS officer Keshav Ram Chaurasia will be taking over the new SIT formed by the CBI to probe Viveka’s murder mystery. This is a big twist because Ram Singh had faced many charges while investigating this case and a couple of cases were filed against him in Kadapa police station.
After the case was transferred to the Hyderabad wing, the probe took fast pace. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has transferred CBI officer Ram Singh after listening to the arguments made earlier in the day.
