Telangana CM KCR has been skipping the protocol welcome whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting the state. Apparently the BJP and BRS are at loggerheads and in the recent past, both the parties are attacking mercilessly against each other. But KCR not receiving Modi has invited a wide range of debates.
On that note, PM Modi’s tour of Hyderabad has been finalized and he will be landing in Hyderabad on Saturday for the reconstruction of Secunderabad Railway station with a budget of Rs 700 crore. Regarding the same, the South Central Railways has written to Telangana CM KCR and requested him to take part in the event.
There was a reply from Pragathi Bhavan and the Telangana CMO informed that instead of KCR, Animal Husbandry minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Secunderabad MLA T Padma Rao will be welcoming the Prime Minister.
Politically there might be differences nevertheless West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Kerala CM Vijayan have followed the due protocol whenever PM Modi visited the respective states.
KCR has been staying away from Modi’s programs for about a year now. He was absent for Modi’s events four times this year. Saturday’s visit will be the fifth.
If we go back to the past, it was KCR who had supported Modi among the non-BJP chief ministers. Be it the GST, demonetization, Covid-19 lockdown, KCR even appreciated Modi for the initiatives being taken. Circumstances have changed with Etela Rajendra joining the BJP and the party winning the Huzurabad by-poll. Since then KCR has been targeting PM Modi on personal note and this has upset the national leadership of BJP. Also this might be the reason KCR is avoiding facing Modi.
Political analysts say that KCR who has national political ambitions is imagining to have a stature like Modi and so KCR is resorting to unnecessary rhetoric to be like a CM with Modi.
