In a way to win the confidence of people of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana CM KCR led BRS government has made a bold vote to bid for Vizag steel plant. As we know the government of India is privatizing the steel plant for unknown reasons and accordingly on March 27th, the Centre asked the bidders to register their Expression of Interest (EoI).
The last date for filing EoI is April 15th and the BRS government is planning to register themselves. Telangana government run Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation (TSMDC) are being considered to submit the EoI.
Sources from Pragathi Bhavan said that Telangana CM KCR had held a meeting with officials and discussed the Vizag steel plant. From BRS sources we hear that BRS leaders led by its Working President KT Rama Rao will be visiting the steel plant too and extend solidarity to employees who have been agitating against the privatization.
If the BRS government joins the bidding process, this would be a huge setback for the Modi led BJP government in New Delhi and the ruling YCP in Andhra Pradesh. But this is a preliminary stage and the BRS government should make serious moves to join the bidding process. If these acts are just a stage show, people of AP will certainly ignore BRS just like BJP in AP.
