The Jagananne Maa Bhavishyathu (JMB) programme is continuing to receive an overwhelming response from the public. The programme is on the path of scripting history as lakhs of people in the village/ward secretariat limits expressed their happiness over receiving the benefits of various welfare schemes introduced by the YCP government since it was voted to power.

With the party activists, ministers, MLAs and the staff of the 15,000 Secretariats in the limits of the 175 constituencies working in coordination and reaching out to the people, the programme, which is basically a survey to gauge people’s inclination towards the YCP. The JMB programme has boosted the morale of the party which faced a minor setback following the defeat in the MLC elections.

After the TDP won the Graduate MLC seats and an MLA quota MLC seat, the YCP cadre was worried, considering the MLC polls as a semi-final to the party’s performance in the Assembly elections. However, the JMB programme instilled confidence in the YCP activists as now, they feel they can emerge victorious in the finals (Assembly polls), slated for April next year.

By the end of Day 3 of the programme, as many as 28 lakh households participated in the survey. On the first day after the launch, over 10 lakh households were surveyed. As per YCP internal reports, A majority of the participants responded in the positive to the questions on whether they were receiving the pensions and other monetary benefits of various schemes regularly, whether the current YCP dispensation is better than the previous TDP regime, if they wanted the YCP government to continue with its welfare schemes in the future. They said they were extremely happy with the volunteer system as they were getting the benefits right into their hands without requiring to move out of their houses or getting the money deposited into their accounts through the DBT.

The Secretariat staff are also collecting details of various welfare schemes. After the survey, the Secretariat staff have been sticking the ‘Maa Nammakam Nuvve Jagan’ stickers to the doors and cell phones of the beneficiaries and ensuring that they raise slogans hailing Jagan. A few of the beneficiaries even got the stickers stuck in their puja mandir conveying that Jagan was equal to God and that they would worship him alongside the deities. Some other beneficiaries even began kissing Jagan’s stickers after being stuck to their doors and cell phones.

The YCP mass contact programme is a well-planned programme taken up at a right time to rejuvenate the party cadre and elected representatives. The programme will continue till April 20.
