Telangana Finance Minister and BRS leader Harish Rao has given black and blue to Andhra Pradesh ministers, leaders and political parties. In a direct question to AP politicians, Harish Rao asked why no one is raising voice against the Centre even when Special Category Status is not fulfilled and the Vizag Steel Plant is being privatised. Harish said the ruling party (YSRCP) does not ask or demand the Centre and opposition TDP won’t question the Centre. He said both ruling and opposition parties in Andhra are trying to be in the good books of the Union Government and are chasing the BJP for their friendship.
In a strong counter to AP ministers, Harish Rao said Telangana has so much and developed way beyond. He also listed out the development schemes and welfare programmes of the state government including Rythu Bandu, Kalyana Lakshmi and other schemes. He also said the largest lift irrigation Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) is in Telangana and built by the BRS government. Harish reminded that TDP had walked out of NDA demanding Special Category Status for AP but he said it is now tight-lipped on the issue for its political interest with BJP.
Earlier, AP minister Botsa Satyanarayana came down heavily on Harish Rao’s previous comments where he had asked Andhra voters in Telangana to transfer their votes to Telangana. Botsa said he is aware of what the Telangana leaders had spoken about the AP Special Category Status earlier. He said Harish Rao has no right to talk about Andhra Pradesh state and its people. He said Harish Rao is an opportunistic politician who raises his voice for political benefit. He cautioned Harish to mind about his Telangana state and its works first.
Overall, the war of words intensified between BRS and YSRCP leaders as BRS entered into national politics and planned to contest in Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha seats.
