Former minister Perni Nani fumed at actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan for asking Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to condemn the remarks made by the YCP leaders and ministers against Telangana people and also to tender an unconditional apology to Telanganites.
Suddenly, why have you started supporting the BRS? How are you getting benefited by doing so, Nani asked.
The war of words between the YCP and BRS subsided four days ago but the JS chief raised it again. Pawan Kalyan said that Harish Rao spoke about Andhra Pradesh in a ‘different context’ and urged the YCP leaders to observe restraint and confine their remarks to specific individuals but not cross their limits and criticize the people in the entire state.
Pawan said that he was pained at the YCP leaders’ and ministers’ remarks insulting Telanganites following Harish Rao’s remarks. He tried to ‘sensitise Andhra leaders’ that they should be aware of their various businesses and assets they have in Telangana and ‘stop passing unsavoury’ remarks against the people in that state. Pawan reminded about the cable business minister Botsa Satyanarayana has in Telangana and said that he does not know if it is still existing.
Irked over the newfound love towards the BRS, former minister Nani said that how could Pawan Kalyan change suddenly and become an advocate of the BRS ministers. “Are you threatening YCP ministers that their businesses might be at risk if they retorted to Telangana ministers’ remarks? Should we keep quiet when others insult us? Were you hired by the Telangana ministers as their advocate?”
Earlier, Pawan used to speak in favour of only Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh. Now, you are backing the BRS too. What is all this, Nani asked.
Nani got played Pawan’s previous video clippings wherein the Jana Sena chief fumed at the TRS for insulting Andhra people, during the bifurcation of the state. “Should we continue to bear the pain of derogatory remarks against us? Are Andhra people not humans,” Pawan asked in the video.
The former minister suggested that Pawan Kalyan stop being a betrayer and have some love and respect towards his native place.
Telangana minister T. Harish Rao stirred the hornet’s nest when he asked the migrant workers from Andhra to cancel their voter registration in their native state and get enrolled as voters in Telangana, as they know the poor development in Andhra Pradesh. He also took a jibe at the governance in Andhra Pradesh and said that the condition of hospitals and roads need no special mention.
In a quick retort, the YCP ministers in Andhra Pradesh ‘rubbished’ Harish Rao’s remarks and asked him to visit any village in the state and witness the development for himself. They lashed out at Harish Rao for unnecessarily poking his nose into the affairs in neighbouring state and advised him that he mind his own business in Telangana.
However, Harish Rao did not stop there. He took a swipe at the YCP leaders and ministers for remaining silent about the special category status, Polavaram project and privatization of the Vizag Steel Plant but raising a hue and cry over his remarks now.
