TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu is a leader with vision and extraordinary administrative skill and this image cannot be wiped out. The ruling YCP has been making a vain attempt since the beginning to destroy it.
Political analysts said that the YCP leaders had been alleging that the TDP showed captivating graphics and called it the capital city of Amaravati. The YCP had been iterating that the TDP government showed a cinema called Amaravati.
Of late, Amaravati’s master plan and its mode of development have won acclaim at the national-level and in the recent past, a few leaders of neighbouring Telagnana even commented that Hyderabad had surged ahead of Amaravati due to lack of development in the latter. Had there been some development in Amaravati this situation would not have arisen, the Telangana leaders commented, and this led to enhancement of Naidu’s image. The YCP leaders had given political mileage to Naidu by hurdling the development of Amaravati, political analysts said.
Had Jagan transformed Amaravati into the capital city in his own style, Naidu’s image would have not gone beyond a point. Further, the YCP has been harassing the TDP by creating obstacles during Naidu’s tours, hurling stones at his convoy, filing cases against the TDP men in the state. All these acts have only been gaining more sympathy for Naidu and his men, they felt.
On the other hand, the YCP also scrapped Ramzan Tofah and closed down the Anna Canteens which have worked against the YCP and helped the TDP grow stronger. The YCP government could have implemented several welfare schemes but the above two programmes introduced by the TDP had gained significance and the public wanted that they be continued.
The YCP had been trying to picturize Naidu as a haggard due to his age but a majority of the people had been refusing to consider it as a negative factor. Instead, they say age only makes him more experienced and a senior politican.
