In recent times, several Telangana ministers have been commenting on Andhra Pradesh politics as part of the BRS party’s strategy to make inroads into the state. The Telangana Labour Minister, Malla Reddy, made controversial comments during the May Day celebrations.
Reddy stated, “In Andhra Pradesh, caste dominates politics, and we frequently see a tussle between the Reddy, Kamma, and Kapu communities. In this caste politics, nobody is bothered about the public’s problems and welfare, and it has spoiled AP.”
The BRS minister also claimed that the party is the only alternative in Andhra Pradesh. “Whether it’s completing the Polavaram project or saving the Vizag steel plant from privatization, only the BRS, under the leadership of KCR, can accomplish it. The BRS will form a government in 2024,” he added.
It is certain that there will be a reaction from YCP ministers, and it is likely to be harsh. YCP leaders have not hesitated to retaliate in the past, as seen when Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao asked Andhra voters to cancel their votes in their hometowns and shift to Telangana.
