The TDP’s Mahanadu scheduled this month-end in Rajamahendravaram is likely to witness the entry of two elected representatives, belonging to the YCP. While one of them has already been suspended from the party, the other is still in YCP.
The leader under suspension is constantly facing trouble from the YCP men and hence, decided to switch loyalties. The second leader is in YCP but has complained of being ignored by the party higher-ups. He is of the opinion that it is of no use sticking to the party and is in discussion with his supporters over his future if he joined the TDP.
The common friends of both these leaders reportedly raised the issue before TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu. There is information that the TDP has shown inclination not only to induct both of them into the party but also issue tickets to them. Now, their admission to the TDP is just a formality.
TDP sources said that both the leaders belong to Nellore district and have decades of experience as politicians. They also hail from strong political families and Naidu is of the impression that their induction into the TDP would put a check on the YCP due to the strong hold these leaders have on their constituencies. Moreover, the TDP does not have suitable candidates in both the constituencies making the TDP boss believe that it would help the TDP win the two seats.
Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy was suspended from YCP and he expressed interest to join the TDP. Venkatagiri MLA Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, also belonging to the YCP, is also ready to join the TDP. Is it just these two leaders who would get inducted into the TDP or are there more in the queue?
