The Nikhil we are talking about is Nikhil Gowda, son of Kumaraswamy Gowda. Nikhil Gowda had made his acting debut with Jaguar. But the film tanked without a trace. Eventually Nikhil quit films and followed the footsteps of his father. Nikhil Gowda contested for Ramanagara Assembly constituency in the Karnataka Assembly election 2023. However, he tasted failure in the hands of Congress candidate Iqbal Hussain.
Nikhil secured 76,439 votes whereas Iqbal Hussain got 87,285 votes. With this, he lost to Iqbal by a margin of over 10,000 votes. In 2018, Nikhil’s father Kumaraswamy Gowda had defeated Iqbal Hussain.
Meanwhile, this is not the first defeat for Nikhil Gowda in politics. Earlier, Nikhil Kumaraswamy had contested for by-election in the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. He was defeated by independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh by over 1,15,000 votes. After failing to make a mark in films, Nikhil Kumaraswamy is now tasting back-to-back failures in politics too.
