In an unusual incident, Nara Lokesh, the general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party, paid tribute to the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the former Chief Minister of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. This incident occurred in the Kurnool district during Lokesh’s Yuva Galam Paadayatra, which is receiving unprecedented attention.
During his Paadayatra, Lokesh reached the village of Nalla Kaaluva in the Srisailam Assembly constituency. Local leaders from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) had established a memorial park for YSR in Nalla Kaaluva. As Lokesh passed through the road, he noticed the ‘YSR’ memorial and stopped for a few seconds. With folded hands, he paid his respects to YSR before continuing with his Paadayatra.
Regardless of their political affiliation, Lokesh’s gesture demonstrated his deep respect for YSR, which is a positive sign. A video of the incident surfaced on social media, and Lokesh was praised for upholding dignity and showing reverence to individuals who have served the Telugu-speaking region, despite political differences.
