Jagan Continues to Target Naidu’s Guest House

Published by

Following the 2019 elections, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan and his state government have shifted their focus to TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s residence, the Lingamaneni Guest House in Karikatta. Several notices have been served to the guest house, citing violations. After a period of silence lasting over two years, the YCP government has once again targeted Naidu’s residence.

In a recent development, the CID officials, under the provisions of the Criminal Law Amendment Act of 1944, attached notices to the guest house on Sunday morning. These notices have sparked political unrest in Andhra Pradesh.

The AP CID has issued a clarification regarding these latest notices. The officials claim that former CM Chandrababu and ex-minister Ponguru Narayana are accused of misusing their positions and engaging in quid pro quo. Allegations of irregularities in the CRDA Master Plan and Inner Ring Road alignment suggest that Lingamaneni obtained permissions in Karikatta through a quid pro quo arrangement, which completely violates the guidelines of the Central Vigilance Commission and general financial rules.

CID officials state that TDP chief Chandrababu and ex-minister Narayana utilized their positions to provide benefits to their relatives and close friends. Chandrababu is accused of favoring real estate businessman Lingamaneni and leasing out the guest house in return.

In light of this, CID officials have attached notices to the guest house and have requested the AP government to consider the case under the Criminal Law Amendment Act of 1944. The CID officials add that the state government has accepted their request in accordance with the law and has thus attached the guest house. However, the CID officials’ actions seem to have been pre-planned, as the local judge was informed about these notices in advance.

TDP leaders have yet to respond to these notices, but according to the media, they are examining the legal aspects of the situation.
