Internal conflicts within the ruling YSR Congress party are gradually coming to the surface. Recently, the differences between YV Subba Reddy and YCP’s spokesperson Vijayasai Reddy were exposed. On Saturday, Vijayasai received a blow from the YCP leadership.
In detail, the party has suspended PV Suresh and Doddi Kiran, who are followers of Vijayasai Reddy. The YCP leadership issued a statement stating that the Disciplinary Committee found both Suresh, a corporator, and Kiran, the President of the 89th award, guilty of engaging in anti-party activities and not cooperating with Ananda Kumar, the in-charge of the Vizag West constituency.
Buzz among YCP insiders suggests that YV Subba Reddy is behind the suspension of Suresh and Kiran. What is surprising and shocking is that the suspension of these leaders was carried out without informing the Vizag YCP chief, the Mayor, and other floor leaders.
Apparently, there have been multiple allegations against Suresh and Kiran in the past. When Vijayasai Reddy was in charge of YCP affairs in Uttar Andhra, Suresh was appointed as the Director of a trade union based on his influence. On the other hand, Kiran was allegedly involved in land encroachments, and Vijayasai Reddy was aware of Kiran’s activities. Simultaneously, Kiran idolizes Vijayasai Reddy like a god, and that is what has led to the suspension, according to local YCP cadre.
These developments indicate the emergence of a growing faction against Vijayasai Reddy within the YCP. He needs to exercise extra caution from here onwards, or he may find himself waiting at the entrance of the Tadepalli camp office like many other leaders.
