The above statement was made by Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu who reacted to Andhra Pradesh’s ranking in attracting Foreign Direct Investments (FDI). The Department For Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Union government has released the rankings of Indian states in drawing FDIs and AP ranked at 14th place.
Anguished by this ranking, ex-CM Naidu was seriously upset. “Once among the top 5 Indian states attracting FDIs, Andhra Pradesh has now nosedived to the bottom of the list and ranks 14th. Not a single investor is confident about investing in AP today,” tweeted Naidu.
The TDP chief further wrote that AP CM YS Jagan who was recently declared as the richest CM in India, is only concerned about his own wealth and PR. He (Jagan) doesn’t care about FDIs or the jobs they can create for the youth of AP, said Naidu and added that the state of Andhra Pradesh deserves better.
According to DPIIT, Andhra Pradesh managed Rs 5,751 Crore FDIs which is a mere 0.42 percent of the total investments of the country from October 2019 to December 2022. During TDP’s regime, AP used to be in the top five states and now it is competing with North-East states which are smaller geographically and population wise.
