TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu’s ‘grave’ remarks triggered a backlash from his political rivals. The YCP activists took to the social media to express their anguish at the unfair comment by Naidu and the TDP social media warriors too gave back in a fitting manner.
During the ‘Idevi Kharma Rashtraniki’ held by the TDP boss in Pendurthi, he took a swipe at the YCP government and asked what can a common man do with a cent land except build a grave. The government has been distributing one cent to each of the homeless poor in the state. These remarks kicked up strong protest from the ruling YCP. There is buzz that Naidu had made the unfair remarks in a haste and it was unbecoming on the part of a senior politician. Some people faulted Naidu for criticizing the ruling party which was at least giving something to the poor who did not have a roof over their head. It is not good to go to the extreme level of comparing it with a grave, they said.
Even the YCP ministers launched a tirade against Naidu for the ‘grave’ and ‘graveyard’ comments. They said that Naidu does not have any concern towards the poor and for the same reason, he did not have any plans to distribute at least some land to them in the capital region of Amaravati and that he spoke in an insulting manner.
Minister Merugu Nagarjuna demanded that Naidu should tender apology to the poor. However, the TDP cadre reminded that minister Botsa Satyanarayana also compared Amaravati to a graveyard. But, Merugu Nagarjuna said that Botsa could not have made those remarks with a similar intention as that of Naidu.
