TDP politburo member Kalava Srinivasulu said that YCP boss and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s plans to get back to power have gone for a toss with the RBI announcing withdrawal of Rs 2000 currency notes from circulation. He alleged that there are wads of Rs 2000 currency notes in a treasure trove hidden underground at Idupulapaya, the headquarters of the YS family.
He appealed to the RBI officials to keep a watch on the persons trying to deposit Rs 2000 currency notes in huge quantities in the banks before September 30, the deadline set by the apex bank for their validity.
At the same time, he also sought surveillance over the circulation of high-value currency notes in Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalagiri, the TDP politburo member reminded that their party chief and former CM N. Chandrababu Naidu had been iterating the need for demonetization for the prosperity of the nation since long. Naidu had been hinting at hoarding of black money by politicians and businessmen in high-value currency notes.
Naidu also made several key suggestions over switching to digital mode of payment after being included in the committee constituted by the government to facilitate the change.
