Why are these prominent figures distancing themselves from the TDP? This question arises as the TDP’s Mahanadu, a platform usually utilized by leaders of all levels, has unexpectedly become a stage for dissent against the party’s leadership. The absence of senior TDP leaders in the recently concluded Mahanadu has sparked debate and raised concerns about influential leaders distancing themselves from the party.
Among the notable leaders missing from this year’s Mahanadu were Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani, former MPs Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and JC Diwakar Reddy, ex-minister Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy, and former MLA from Bobbili Sujayakrishna Ranga Rao.
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani, who was in New Delhi during Mahanadu, expressed his indifference towards the party and even stated his readiness to contest as an independent candidate if the TDP disregards him. Rumors suggest that Kesineni Nani is dissatisfied with the rising prominence of his brother Kesineni Sivanath, also known as Chinni, within the TDP.
Former MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and his son Rayapati Ranga Rao were also absent. Inside sources indicate their discontent with the TDP leadership and their reluctance to reconcile their differences.
Another significant absence was Kodela Sivaprasad Rao’s son, Sivaram. With the entry of Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, Kodela’s family was sidelined in Satthenapalli, leading to deep disappointment within the family. Kodela Sivaram expressed frustration about certain individuals blocking their access to the TDP chief and expressed hope that Chandrababu Naidu would honor Kodela’s legacy.
All the mentioned leaders come from influential families with strong voter bases. The Telugu Desam Party must promptly address these concerns and bridge the gaps, especially with elections on the horizon. Losing the support of these leaders would significantly impact the party.
