Good news for government employees of Andhra Pradesh. The YCP government has taken several decisions for the welfare of the employees in the state.
The state government has replaced the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) with Guaranteed Pension Scheme (GPS) which would give more security to the employees. For this, the government introduced the AP Guaranteed Pension Bill 2023.
The Cabinet also gave nod to regularization of contract workers and also for constituting the 12th PRC, implementation of new DA. Services of as many as 10,000 contract workers, who completed five years of service by June 2, 2024 would be regularized.
Further, the Cabinet also approved filling of 2,118 posts in medical colleges and agreed for release of funds for the implementation of Amma Vodi scheme. The employees expressed happiness over the cancellation of the CPS scheme and introduction of the GPS.
The contract employees also were happy as their services were regularized and wanted Jagan to clinch power in the next elections too. “We feel like relieved from bonded labour after hearing to this regularization news,” said a contract lecturer.
The HRA for employees working at district headquarters has been increased by 16%.
The YCP government which has been focusing on welfare of the underprivileged so far has taken several decisions for the good of the employees and it is a very happy occasion for us, said another employee union leader.
All these decisions are aimed at appeasing the employees who are disgruntled over delay in payment of salaries and non-payment of DA. Ahead of the elections, the CM would take more steps to appease all sections of the society in the coming days, said political analysts.
