Janasena Demands Mangalagiri Seat?

Published by

Even before Telugu Desam and Jana Sena forge an alliance, the seat sharing between both the parties appear to be the speedbrakers going forward. The other day we heard reports that a section of TDP cadre is not ready to let go of some constituencies in the seat sharing formula in case the party teams up with Jana Sena.

And now we are hearing demands from the Jana Sena party and this is going to be interesting. Jana Sena party’s Mangalagir in-charge Chillapalli Srinivas Rao is demanding Mangalagiri ticket in the alliance and he served a soft warning if he is snubbed.

“Yes I’m anticipating the Mangalagiri ticket in TDP and Jana Sena alliance. Besides this we also want the Mayor seat and I have the reasons. Handloom community has a reasonable vote bank in Mangalagiri and if I contest I’m sure they will vote for me,” added Chillapalli. The Jana Sena leader has alternate plans too if he gets snubbed. “If ticket is denied to me, I will think of the political consequences depending upon the situation,” said Chillapalli.

In the 2019 elections, Jana Sena did not field any candidate in Mangalagiri and so the main contest was between TDP and YCP. TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh who contested his first mainstream elections, lost to YCP’s Alla Ramakrishna Reddy by margin of 5337 votes. Lokesh is expected to contest from Mangalagiri again and he has done a lot of groundwork in the last couple of years visiting the constituency multiple times gaining the confidence of the locals.

Now Jana Sena’s Mangalagiri in-charge is stubborn to contest from Mangalagiri and this will certainly lead to differences.
