Triple Surge In Hyd-Delhi Airfares: What’s Causing The Spike?

Published by

The surge in airfares between Hyderabad and New Delhi, as well as other routes like Vizag to Hyderabad and Vizag to Delhi, has become a matter of concern in recent days. Political analysts have noted that the escalating political activity in anticipation of the upcoming Assembly and general elections has contributed to the soaring demand in these specific routes. This increase in demand, coupled with limited flight availability, has led to a significant spike in airfares, with prices tripling in some cases.

Hyderabad, being a thriving city and a major hub for business and commerce, has seen a steady increase in travel between Delhi and Hyderabad. This rise in economic activity has further fueled the demand for air travel on this route. Additionally, the high political activity in Telugu states has resulted in an increased number of politicians and political representatives traveling to Delhi, leading to a surge in demand for flights between these regions.

Comparatively, other states do not experience such exorbitant fares on routes to Delhi. The unique combination of political heat and growing business ties between Telugu states and Delhi has contributed to the significant rise in airfares observed in these specific routes. As the political landscape continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how the airfare situation will unfold in the coming days.

These apart, the recent triple train crash in Balasore district of Odisha also added to the soaring demand on the route.
