YCP Govt’s Fact Sheet On TIDCO Houses

Housing is one of the primary aspects to better the lives of poor beneficiaries and accordingly Andhra Pradesh Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited in other words TIDCO Houses has been initiated.

But there has been a delay in the beneficiaries getting the TIDCO Houses and here are some facts that are related to the previous and current government’s actions.

Current AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led YCP government offered small flats of 300 feet for free to the beneficiaries and the remaining 365 and 430 feet flats to the people at half price.

Moreover, CM Jagan has released huge funds for drinking water, roads, electricity and other facilities, to provide basic infrastructure at these establishments. Chandrababu and TDP workers have been misleading people by taking selfies and saying that the previous government has done a lot for TIDCO Houses without spending even a tenth of the total project funds.

As per the YSRCP Government sources, here are some facts related to TIDCO Housing Project

  • To complete the proposed TIDCO houses, the total expenditure is over Rs 28,000 crore.
  • After YCP formed the government in AP, a total of Rs 8734 crore has been spent on TIDCO houses.
  • Despite Covid-19’s financial crisis, AP government managed to complete 62,000 TIDCO Houses.
  • The YCP government has spent an additional Rs 3000 crore on infrastructure so that houses do not turn into gutters.
  • Also the YCP government has cleared the pending bills of Rs 3000 crore of the previous TDP government.
  • In TDP’s government beneficiaries were asked to pay a loan of Rs.3000 per month for a period of 20 years for a 300 feet TIDCO house. That means after twenty years that amount will be around Rs. 7.2 lakhs.
  • But the Jagan government is offering 300 feet houses at free of cost to the beneficiaries. This will put a burden of Rs. 5,340 crore on AP government.
  • The government has also borne 50 percent subsidy on advance payments for flats of 365 square feet and 430 square feet. The additional burden on the government is another Rs.482.31 crore.
  • Besides this, the state government is incurring the cost of registration of the houses which totals up to Rs 1200 crore.
  • The total flats including 300, 365 and 430 square feet houses are 2.62 Lakh.
  • The state government is offering 300 feet house at the cost of Rs 1 to 1,43,600 beneficiaries.
  • So far the AP government has spent Rs 18,714 crore.
  • 61,948 have already been handed over to the beneficiaries
  • 2,62,216 flats are planned to be handed over by the end of this year.
