The political developments in Andhra Pradesh are leading to a lot of confusion among the public. People are not able to understand which party would forge an alliance and which would go alone. Even the political parties seem to lack clarity about the alliances, ahead of the elections.
The confusion among the public began with TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah which continued when Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan launched his ‘Vaarahi yatra’.
It was understood that the TDP and Jana Sena would go together for the upcoming polls and the BJP might also join, at a later stage. However, after Naidu met Shah suddenly, the public became clueless and there was talk that TDP-BJP truck was in the offing. But, neither the TDP nor the BJP authorities made any announcement about it and the agenda behind Naidu-Shah meet remained a secret.
At the same time, Pawan began his Vaarahi yatra and said that he has not finalized anything about alliances so far. The public could not understand why Pawan, who had been saying that there would an alliance with the TDP till then, changed his tune suddenly .
At one meeting, YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he would not be able to garner the support of the BJP and the public understood it. Even otherwise, the BJP and YCP never moved together. Except for the state-Centre relations , the BJP was never on friendly terms with the YCP.
When the BJP leaders are questioned, they say they have a tie-up with the JS. This means only he YCP would go alone in the 2024 Assembly polls. There is no clarity about the action plan of the BJP, JS and the TDP. Why are the political parties creating so much confusion remains unanswered.
