Tamil superstar Vijay has been playing hide & seek with his political entry. Before the 2019 general elections and Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, there were reports that Thalapathy might enter mainstream politics but that did not happen. Also the ‘Master’ actor has been maintaining strategic silence on politics.
On Saturday, Vijay made satirical comments on current politics and advised students to vote wisely because it’s their future. Vijay participated in an education awards ceremony and felicitated bright students who were brilliant in their academics i.e, topped class 10 and 12 board examinations.
“You (referring to students) are going to be the future voters and so you should elect your rulers wisely. Students should tell their parents to not get influenced by money during the elections,” said Vijay. He also commented on current politics in the country. “Taking money for votes is the most insulting act. Imagine how much money the leader has amassed illegally that he is offering Rs 1000 for a single vote? This is just common sense,” said Vijay.
The ‘Beast’ actor also opined that there should be major changes in the education system. “If we lose money, we can earn it and if we fall sick, we can recover but if our character is lost, we lose everything,” said Vijay. Suggesting students to avoid social media, Vijay said that fake news is being spread a lot these days and students have to make minimal use of social media.
This speech at this award ceremony invited huge applause and whistles from the spectators but is Vijay hinting at entering politics? Well he keeps himself away from the media and so we are not sure what he is up to.
