TDP scion and national general secretary N. Lokesh stressed the need to give importance to one’s mother tongue. During an informal chat at community lunch programme held at Ravuru, as part of his Yuva Galam, Lokesh agreed that he was having trouble speaking in Telugu. He also revealed that he had purposefully identified one such school which would teach Telugu and joined his son Devansh in that institution.
Devansh should not face the type of trouble I am facing with Telugu, he said. Children should compulsorily learn Telugu because it is their mother tongue. “In addition, you can learn English, German, Spanish, French or any other language of your choice but not miss Telugu,” he said.
“I know English, Hindi and Sanskrit. I speak very good Hindi but remember, our children should learn Telugu mandatorily. You can get your children taught in English but make it sure that they learn and know Telugu without fail,” he suggested.
Throughout his yatra, Lokesh has been showcasing his respect for traditional practices and also empahsising the need to observe ethical values in life. Lokesh’s grandfather and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao was the flag-bearer of Telugu pride. He made the world know that Telugus in Andhra Pradesh are worthy and reliable through his words and deeds. His son-in-law and former CM N. Chandrababu Naidu carried forward the legacy and put Andhra Pradesh on the world map by developing the state on various fronts.
Now, Lokesh is also trying to project the TD as a party which respects human values, ethics and at the same time, has the vision for developing the state.
