On Wednesday night, PM Narendra Modi was called on by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda and other prominent leaders from the national leadership. This meeting lasted till mid-night and we hear that the discussion was about the states that will go for Assembly elections and also on general polls next year.
The primary focus was states going for Assembly polls and Telangana BJP matters were discussed extensively. Apparently there has been a campaign on change in T-BJP leadership but it was rubbed off by current chief Bandi Sanjay.
Yet reports from New Delhi suggest that Union Minister Kishan Reddy might take over the reins of Bandi Sanjay. The BJP leadership wants to appoint union ministers for the state chief’s roles and this strategy might strengthen the party going forward for the polls. PM Modi and other leaders in the meeting believed that Kishan Reddy would be apt for T-BJP chief role since he can manage old and fresh leaders in the party.
A discussion on AP BJP was also part of PM Modi’s meeting. Highly placed sources suggest that current AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju is likely to be shown the exit doors and a fresh face with local approach might get a chance. Seemingly the BJP leadership is not happy with Somu and his way of handling the things. AP BJP will go for 2024 elections with new leadership, added the sources.
Overall we hear that both the Telugu states will have new leadership in place as BJP’s ultimate target is the elections.
