As the general elections are fast-approaching in Telangana state, Telangana BJP may witness some key changes in its leadership. BJP’s central leadership is contemplating to change Bandi Sanjay as the Telangana state unit president. It is learnt that Union Minister Kishan Reddy may soon be announced as the new state president of BJP.
Bandi Sanjay may be given some key post at the national level or may even include him in the ministry. No doubt, Bandi has strengthened the party. Under Bandi’s leadership, BJP delivered in polls like Huzurabad, Dubbaka by-polls, Teacher MLCs, winning 48 corporators in GHMC polls.
However, Bandi has completed his 3 years term. PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, national president JP Nadda and National General Secretary BL Santhosh are discussing about Telangana BJP. A key decision may be taken in a couple of days.
However, earlier, Bandi was assured to continue as the party president in the state till the next elections. If Bandi is replaced now, it may impact the BJP’s leadership in the state. Hence, BJP’s central leadership is making its moves wisely. Meanwhile, even if Kishan Reddy is made the BJP’s new chief in Telangana, he will continue as the Union Minister.
The dominance of the Reddy community in Telangana is one of the reasons to push Kishan Reddy to lead the party. However, the discussion is at an early stage. More details need to be emerged.
