The suicide of Tadipatri town’s CI, Ananda Rao, has sparked a political clash between the ruling YCP and Telugu Desam parties. Tadipatri municipal chairman JC Prabhakar Reddy has accused the YCP of being responsible for the police officer’s suicide.
Prabhakar Reddy stated, “Political interference has become commonplace in Tadipatri, and the leaders of the ruling party are harassing the police department. CI Ananda Rao could not bear the political pressure anymore, leading to his decision to take his own life.”
In response to these allegations, YCP MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy challenged the TDP leader to provide evidence to support his claims. MLA Kethireddy said, “If Prabhakar Reddy can substantiate that the police officer committed suicide due to political reasons, I am willing to face any consequences.”
Some media reports suggest that the 52-year-old police officer had been experiencing marital problems for a long time. On Sunday night, he reportedly had a heated argument with his wife, which ultimately led him to take the drastic step of ending his own life.
With the CI’s tragic death, Tadipatri has once again become the epicenter of a political storm in Andhra Pradesh. This place is likely to remain a hotbed of controversy until the upcoming general elections next year.
