Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s tour of Telangana was a success. The meeting in Khammam made right noise in the state and now it’s over to Andhra Pradesh. Before flying to New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi met AP Congress leaders at Gannavaram airport.
In this meeting, RaGa and AP Congress leaders discussed many issues pertaining to the state. Special Status, Capital Amaravati and privatization of Vizag steel plant were mainly discussed. RaGa added that the Congress party will oppose the move to privatize the Vizag steel plant and accordingly the party will stage an agitation next month. Rahul Gandhi will lead this protest, informed AP Congress chief Rudraraju.
Rahul Gandhi also had a word about the capital city. “It is unfortunate that AP doesn’t have a capital and grave injustice is being done to farmers who have donated their land for the capital city development. AP Congress will stand-by the farmers,” said Rahul and he informed that Priyanka Gandhi will be touring Amaravati soon.
Thus Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi’s schedule of AP tour has been fixed and AP Congress will take over from here. Besides the above issues, Rahul also mentioned about the CBI, ED and IT cases against AP CM YS Jagan Reddy.
“Though TDP, Jana Sena and YCP pretend to be opponents, they fall under the shadow of the BJP and are trying to bluff the people of AP. If Congress forms government in Delhi, all the promises made to AP during the bifurcation including the Special Category Status will be implemented without fail,” told RaGa to AP Congress leaders.
AP Congress needs a miracle for its revival. Sensing an opportunity, Rahul Gandhi is focusing on AP. But will it yield any result?
