Jagan Ignoring Kshatriyas?

Published by

Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy might lose the support of Kshatriya community during the elections next year.

By ignoring the 125th anniversary celebrations of Manyam Veerudu Alluri Sitarama Raju on June 4, Jagan could be losing the trust of the Kshatriya electorate. In fact, the YCP government should have officially celebrated the occasion.

Even Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu raised the topic now. In 2018, Naidu even released a GO that Alluri’s birth anniversary would be celebrated officially, obliging to a demand from the Kshatriya community.

Since then, the tribal revolutionary’s birthday was being celebrated officially every year.

Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the occasion and unveiled a statue of Alluri at Bhimavaram.

Jagan, who is supposed to give directions for the official celebrations, is now touring in Chittoor district. It would have been better if he had paid tributes to Alluri during his tour. Instead, he had ignored it and his team in the twin Godavari districts, where the Kshatriya community is concentrated, also acted accordingly.

This led to buzz that Jagan was neglecting the Kshatriyas, intentionally. At a time when the Kshatriyas are still not able to digest the harassment and torment meted out to their leader, MP K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, neglecting the community would prove costly for Jagan, say political analysts.

It can be said that Jagan had lost an opportunity to placate the Kshatriya community, they felt.

It has to be seen how the Kshatriya community would react to this treatment, in the next elections.
