The volunteer system initiated by the YCP government has garnered desired results for the ruling party. But this system is likely to give jitters to YCP as the Sarpanch union in AP is reportedly unhappy with the state government. Recently the union met in Vijayawada and has decided to agitate over many demands and promises that were not addressed in the last four years.
Previously the Sarpanch union meeting was held multiple times but the union associated with the ruling party stayed away. But for the recent meeting, the YCP affiliated union joined TDP, Left parties unions and discussed various issues related to the concerns Sarpanchs are facing all over the state.
The Sarpanchs lamented that the AP government is using the panchayat funds and ignoring rural development. Moreover Volunteers were given a respectable salary of Rs. 5000 per month while Sarpanchs are making just Rs 3000 a month.
The Sarpanch Union was anguished that they were not getting the due respect and timely funds for development. In this context, the union has pledged to join hands with the opposition and take action against the government. Further the union will go door to door in all panchayats in rural areas. Political analysts say that, if this happens, it will surely affect the rural vote bank of the YCP.
The YCP has knowledge of the Sarpanch union and has to do the damage control before it is too late.
