In a recent controversy, AP Minister Botsa Satyanarayana criticized the Telangana education system, stating that it is plagued with scams and question paper leaks, while asserting that AP’s education system is far superior to Telangana’s.
In response, Telangana ministers Swami Goud and Gongula Kamalakar hit back at Botsa by raising the issue of the capital. Minister Swami Goud questioned whether AP even has a capital, highlighting that it is the only state in the country without a designated capital. He further mentioned that the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has witnessed numerous leaks and scams in the past.
Minister Kamalakar also issued a warning to Botsa, expressing disappointment at the continued venomous remarks from AP leaders towards Telangana even after nine years of bifurcation. He highlighted the significant number of Gurukuls (residential schools) in Telangana compared to AP and emphasized the positive changes brought by the Telangana government in the education sector.
Kamalakar demanded Botsa’s expulsion from the AP cabinet and insisted on an apology. He stated that Botsa should only visit Hyderabad after retracting his comments.
This exchange of words between the BRS ministers and Botsa has fueled the capital row, adding tension to the already strained relationship between the two states. The demand for an apology and the call for Botsa’s removal from the AP cabinet reflect the escalating political rift between the two states.
It remains to be seen how this controversy will unfold and whether efforts will be made to mend the strained ties between Telangana and AP.
