BJP senior leader Subramanian Swami has expressed a desire to contest from Andhra Pradesh for the Parliament in the upcoming elections. Swami is unhappy with his six years tenure in the Rajya Sabha and this time he wants to contest the mainstream elections and that too from Andhra Pradesh.
More interestingly, BJP’s Swami has gone soft on the ruling YCP in AP and criticized the oppositions Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. “I have been defending in Andhra Pradesh Courts, the Tirumala Tirupati Temple Management against the corrupt losers of the last General Elections,” tweeted Swami last evening.
On Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Swami added that no temple authority in the country has invited a thorough inquiry on the details of donations it is receiving and TTD needs to be appreciated. “The current management of TTD is doing an extremely diligent service for the public. My ancestors have worked as commander in chiefs for TTD and so I have a long association with the Devasthanam. TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy and his wife are proper Hindus but they were deliberately dragged to the headlines on their religion,” stated Swami.
Swami also reacted to the attacks against temples in Andhra Pradesh and added that it is a false campaign. “No temples were attacked in the state, it is all a propaganda run by the oppositions,” added Swami.
The advocate turned politicians sounded more like a YCP leader with his comments. On one hand, the AP BJP is haunting the YCP and Swami is pouring water on AP BJP’s prospects to grow in the state. Is there anything fishy in Swami inclining towards YCP?
