Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan arrived in Tirupati today and met with Tirupati Superintendent of Police Parameshwar Reddy to file a complaint against CI Anju Yadav. Yadav was caught on camera slapping a Jana Sena activist, Sai, during a protest against the YCP government in Srikalahasti.
Expressing his discontent, Pawan Kalyan stated, “Jana Sena party workers have always maintained discipline and have never crossed any line of control. Despite facing severe restrictions imposed by the police due to political pressure from the YCP, our workers exhibited exemplary conduct during the road show. However, the police are now testing the patience of Jana Sena.”
Pawan Kalyan further asserted that CI Anju Yadav’s actions violated the fundamental right of citizens to peacefully protest anywhere in the country. He also appreciated the decision of the Human Rights Commission to take suo moto cognizance of the incident, hoping that it serves as a lesson to both the police department and the state government.
Citing a Supreme Court judgment related to protests at Ramleela Maidan in New Delhi, Pawan Kalyan emphasized the importance of upholding citizens’ rights to peaceful demonstration.
Meanwhile, the slapping incident has taken a community-centric turn, with the Yadav community expressing their discontent towards Pawan Kalyan. They argue that Pawan Kalyan is intentionally targeting a backward caste (BC) woman who has worked hard to achieve her current position.
