With Assembly elections just a few months away, political parties are busy trying to assess the people’s pulse and also to design proper strategies to confront their rivals.
In one such recent survey conducted by the Poll Strategy Group, it was found that the YCP’s vote share was 49% and the TDP, along with the Jana Sena, is trailing behind at 41%, while others could bag a meagre 10%.
To a question on whom would the participants want to see as the CM of Andhra Pradesh, 56% of the electorate wanted Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy while 37% wanted TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, and a meagre 7% voted for Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, which means even in case of an alliance between the TDP and JS, they cannot beat the YCP.
Coming to the satisfaction ratings with regard to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s governance, around 56% of the electorate termed it good while 9% felt it was very good, 22% considered it bad, 8% very bad and 3% did not have any specific opinion.
Many voters in the poorer sections of the society are found to be wanting the YCP to come to power again as they had benefited immensely through various schemes under Navaratnalu. In fact, many of the poor families are considering Jagan as one of their family members.
The voters are impressed by the welfare and development programmes initiated by the YCP and hence, the YCP is likely to make a sweep in Andhra Pradesh.
In another survey conducted recently by Mouth Opinion in urban areas, it was found that the TDP would make a clean sweep in all the urban areas.
The survey report revealed that the electorate in urban areas were favouring the TDP. Surprisingly, even daily wage labourers in urban areas are preferring to vote for the TDP. The YCP claims that it is a poor-friendly government and always aims at providing basic necessities to the underprivileged. However, even the underprivileged section of the society in the urban areas seem not be be happy with the YCP’s governance, pointed out a poll analyst.
One other fact that came to light in the survey is that people wanting to have a capital for the state also in favour of the TDP.
Some surveys are giving an edge to the TDP while a few others say the YCP would be winner. Let people wait and watch for what would unfold in the coming days.
