After Four Years KCR Follows AP CM Jagan

Published by

With the Telangana Assembly sessions due to commence this week, the Telangana state cabinet met at BR Ambedkar Secretariat on Monday. The cabinet meeting lasted for hours and BRS working president, KT Rama Rao listed out the decisions taken by the cabinet in a brief press meet.

The big announcement from the Telangana cabinet was the merger of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) with the state government. This decision would benefit nearly 43,373 employees of TSRTC and KTR informed the media that the state government would move a bill in the Assembly for the merger.

Apparently this decision surprised many and opposition parties believe that this is a political stunt ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled later this year. Some compared this decision with that of YS Jagan Reddy who right after taking charge as the Chief Minister of AP in 2019, decided to merge APSRTC with the state government. However due to covid-19’s financial restrictions, AP government is yet to complete the process of merger.

Besides the above resolution, the Telangana cabinet emphasized more on transportation and health care. The cabinet discussed the metro rail expansion and some double-decker flyovers have been proposed at important junctions.

Also the Telangana cabinet approved for new medical colleges and hospitals across Telangana. Four massive medical colleges cum hospitals will be established in Telangana with 2000 bed capacity.

Summing up KTR’s press meet, the cabinet meeting had the Assembly polls on agenda and the resolutions taken reflect the same.
