Shortly after announcing the merger of TSRTC with the Telangana government, a bill was introduced and passed in the Telangana Assembly by the ruling party, BRS. The bill after getting approval has been sent to Raj Bhavan for Telangana Governor’s nod. The twist in the tale appeared with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan putting the bill on hold.
This attitude of Governor Tamilisai has upset the employees of TSRTC and they have called for a sudden strike. On Saturday morning, all the buses were confined to depots and employees demanded that they will move buses out of the depot only if the Governor approves the bill.
This sudden strike of buses has impacted the daily commuters who opt for public transport but being weekend, the public presence was a lot compared to weekdays. However, if the situation doesn’t improve, TSRTC employees might extend their strike, ultimately affecting the public.
The BRS government should intervene in the TSRTC sudden strike and ensure the public aren’t facing any difficulties in their daily commute.
