Undavalli Sridevi, who emerged victorious as a YCP MLA from Tadikonda in the previous Andhra Pradesh elections, is on the cusp of transitioning to the TDP fold.
The recent occurrence of TDP National General Secretary Lokesh’s Yuvagalam padayatra reaching Tadikonda marked a crucial turning point. During this event, Lokesh engaged in a dialogue with Amaravati’s farmers, and Sridevi’s presence garnered notable attention. Voicing her readiness to align with TDP, she also voiced criticism against the YCP government.
Sridevi had been suspended by YCP due to allegations of cross-voting aimed at benefiting TDP in the MLC elections. Information has surfaced that Chandrababu Naidu, considering her integration into TDP, has set forth certain conditions. There is a belief that Sridevi is gearing up to contest on behalf of TDP from Tadikonda in the impending assembly elections. Alternatively, a suggestion has been made for her to vie for the Prattipadu constituency.
Nonetheless, reports indicate that the TDP ticket for Tadikonda has already been secured by former MLA Shravan Kumar. It’s worth noting that Babu is contemplating the prospect of offering an opportunity to retired IAS officer Ramanjaneyulu in Prathikonda.
In this context, Babu seems to be exploring the possibility of positioning Sridevi for the Bapatla Lok Sabha constituency. This strategy may involve pitting Sridevi against Nandigam Suresh, a YCP MP representing that constituency. The outcome remains uncertain: will Sridevi accept this proposition or not? The unfolding events will illuminate her decision.
